The Jazz & Fondue series held annually at Delheim Wine Estate has been running in collaboration with CTMA since 2018 (during 2020 and 2021 the series did not run). These Sunday afternoon jazz concerts held at Delheim Estate’s cellar restaurant over 9 consecutive weeks in Winter showcases local jazz musicians while guests also enjoy a fondue lunch and delicious wines from the estate.

In June 2022 CTMA in partnership with the Alliance Française du Cap launched a live music show series running monthly at the Alliance Française venue in Cape Town CBD.

Musicians for the live shows are hand-picked by CTMA and showcase established and upcoming bands and solo artists from Cape Town. Music styles include contemporary, pop, electronic, folk as well as some traditional African styles.

Past acts include Qadasi & Maqhinga and Lo Ghost.

In May 2022, CTMA facilitated a tour to Cape Town of the Maskandi duo Qadasi & Maqhinga. They blend traditional Zulu Maskandi music with modern folk styles, making feel-good, easy listening songs. They undertook a week-long circuit of notable Cape Town venues including The House of the Machines, Cafe Roux, Athletic Club & Social and Alliance Française and closed off the week with a free show at Lumkile’s Book Joint in Gugulethu. The duo were well received by Cape Town audiences and generated a lot of media interest.

During the 2020 lockdown period, David Kramer took to painting to keep busy. In 2021, CTMA auctioned off some of his artworks to raise funds in support of musicians who lost work during the COVID-19 lockdown. 

In 2021, CTMA hosted an outdoor live show at De Waal Park in Cape Town. The event was one of the first live shows CTMA oversaw since the relaxing of lockdown measures post COVID-19 lockdown in South Africa. Attendees enjoyed dancing in the sun on the lawns of the park.

The CTMA in collaboration with SU Woordfees and Jazz in the Native Yards (JINY), presented the first ever Jazz in the Quad music experience – a late night music venue featuring some of South Africa’s best live music acts, during the 2018 SU Woordfees.

The inaugural event was held over 5 evenings and the line-up consisted of top-notch local jazz musicians including Siya Makuzeni Sextet, Bongani Sotshononda and the United Nations of Africa band, Ramon Alexander and band, Reza Khota and IYONDE (featuring Sisonke Xonti and Bokani Dyer).

As part of the jazz show series held during Woordfees in Stellenbosch, CTMA also put on an evening of music at Amazink in Kayamandi. Local jazz musicians joined with visiting international jazz musicians to put on an show.
